\outlook For Mac\ Focused Inbox Not Available
Microsoft rolling out Focused Inbox to Outlook for Mac and web, Windows 10 coming soon. In mid to late November and will take 6-8 weeks to be available worldwide. Able to see the Focused.
Dear Everyone, I just got off the phone with a level 2 Support Technician from Microsoft. I contacted their chat support about this because my Focused Inbox disappeared and there was no settings to turn it on or off on the Web Version of Outlook (Outlook.com) and I was afraid some of my emails may have disappeared. With this said, the first Support Technician tried every basic thing such as clearing browser Cache, Incognito Browser mode, checking Outlook.com settings, logging in and out etc.
The second support Technician basically said something along the lines of, Outlook.com probably had an update and Focused Inbox probably hasn't been rolled out to you yet. He also basically said that because I have multiple Outlook.com accounts for various reasons, that one of them may have not had Focused Inbox yet which when I logged in caused another to lose the function (I'm not sure how that works or if that's logical at all and either way all my accounts had Focused Inbox).
He further claimed along the lines of, there are millions of accounts and not every account has the feature yet. I re-stated that I still have Focused Inbox via the Android Application/Windows 10 Mail App and that I had Focused Inbox previously on all my accounts on Outlook on the Web (Outlook.com). Best thing he advised was to wait and he assured me all emails should be in the one Inbox and you'll get the Focused Inbox soon. More so, I'm not sure why I had it previously for Outlook on the Web (Outlook.com) and now don't or why I can access it on my Android Device using the Outlook.com Application from the Google Play Store or the Mail Application on the latest Windows 10. For now, all he could advise me was that I have to wait to be re-upgraded to Focused Inbox for Outlook on the Web (Outlook.com) in the future. For me anyhow, all the emails seem to be there still on the Android/Windows 10 Application within the Focused Inbox but I'm not entirely sure on the Web Version of Outlook if any emails are missing. However, it looks as though most are there with the exception of one or two, I can't remember all the emails I had in the Focused Inbox (Even-though I can check via the Application, I'm not sure if any were deleted or not).
As I'm just getting used to it for it to be removed, makes it hard to go back to one inbox to find everything. Again, I'm not sure why everyone lost it at the same time, the level two technician didn't touch on this or have an answer. Vms emulator for mac.
For now though, if you have a phone or Windows 10 with the Mail Application and really want the Focused Inbox you can try the Android Application from the Google Play Store or the pre-installed Mail App on Windows 10 as all my accounts have the Focused Inbox when using them. However, I've never liked the Application version of Outlook and have always preferred the browser version (The discontinued Windows Live Mail app was better IMO). Likewise, I won't always have access to the Application and the inconsistency of my accounts having Focused Inbox on the App version and not on the Web Version (Outlook.com) is really annoying as having access to Focused Inbox in the Application but not on the Web Version of Outlook (Outlook.com) really makes things inconsistent and very annoyingly difficult as there is no point setting up Focused Inbox if we can't access it everywhere when logging into our Outlook accounts. Finally, you can still use Focused Inbox via the Application and I guess we just have to wait for the Web Version (Outlook.com) to re-update to allow us to use Focused Inbox again. Hope this helps until someone can enlighten us on more details as to why Outlook for the Web removed our Focused Inbox access from the Web Version only.
