Use Arrow Keys For Mac Calendar
Yesterday I mentioned a useful tip for using physical keyboards with iPads in my guide to. The tip actually works with all iOS 9 iPads connected to external keyboards over Bluetooth, Lightning, or the Smart Connector: hold Command (⌘) to see a list of supported keyboard shortcuts for the Home screen or app you’re in. This works in most of Apple’s built-in apps and plenty of popular third-party apps as well, but it can be monotonous prompting that sheet in each app to get a sense of what keyboard shortcuts work. Instead, I’ve compiled a cheat sheet of which keyboard shortcuts work in all the system apps and several popular third-party apps. Whether you’re using Apple’s,,, or any other physical keyboard, these will make you more efficient when working on your iPad. Enter the shortcuts by holding down the ⌘ (command) and, if applicable, shift or option keys together, then hitting the letter, number, or symbol.
So for ⌘ shift H, hold down ⌘ and shift, then hit H to execute the shortcut.
Arrow keys can be used to “walk” within a pane. Use ENTER to execute the selected action. Toggling Panes. By repeatedly pressing the keyboard shortcuts below, you can show or hide the corresponding pane. The Navigation Pane and the To-Do Bar also have a “minimized” state. Up arrow and down arrow Dear Out look Team I enjoy hotmail very much please re introduce the down arrow and up arrow keys so that we can brows emails from the list without opening items.
I've just upgraded to Office 2011 for Mac and noticed something I can't do anymore. I have Outlooks layout setup as it was when it was installed, with a side column with all mail folders and next to it another column which displays the directory inside each of the folders followed by the main window displaying the email I seem to be able to scroll down the list of emails in a directory (in the second column) perfectly fine using the keyboard arrows but when I try to scroll down the list of folders in the first column (ie: the folders inbox, sent, junk, etc) I can't use the keyboard arrows and have to use the mouse to select the folders. It's ok if you're working with 3 or 4 folders but if like me you have organised your emails by projects and have a large amount of folders in the first column it is very slow to use the mouse rather then the arrow keys to move down the list. I use to be able to use the arrow keys in all columns as long as I selected something in the particular column first. Am I missing something? Are there new keyboard shortcuts I don't know about? Thanks for the advice.
I've had a play around after writing my email and now noticed it does work although it seems a little more particular in how it works. If I select something in the second column then go back and select something in the first column it doesn't allow key control, I have to select the item in the first column a second time to get it to work, making sure the item turns an active darker shaded colour rather then a pale colour. I didn't seem to have to do that in Entourage 2008, selecting anything first time from any column seemed to allow key control, with outlook it doesn't seem to have the same implementation.
