You need to be running Mac OS 10.12 or later. If you are running Mac OS 10.11 or earlier, you need to upgrade. Xcode Check to see whether you have Xcode installed on your Mac.

In the Finder, click on the Go menu and then on Applications. A window labeled Applications will open. If the application named Xcode is present, skip to. Otherwise, you need to download and install Xcode. You’ll need an Apple account so that you can get Xcode (for free) from the App Store. To get Xcode, click, and then click on View in the Mac App Store.

If you have to choose an application, choose App Store. Follow the instructions to download and install Xcode 9.4.1. Note: If you are running OS 10.12 (Sierra), you won’t be able to run Xcode 9.4.1.
