Hi ViciousKangaroo, It seems that the installation process is stuck. I suggest cancel this installation and try to reinstall.

Please do a local installation because whether we can install VS fine that depends on the internet connection when we use a online installer. So download the installer first and install it second is a good way to avoid the network issue. Hi ViciousKangaroo, >>I am installing Visual Studio Community 2013 with update 4. Could you please tell us where did you download VS community 2013 with update 4? It seems that I can only find the VS community 2013 download page in our official website. Click to participate the survey. I had the same problem installing VS Community 2013 with Update 4 on a Windows 7 Home Premium system. I solved it by cancelling the installation (which also hung, so I had to go to Task Manager and kill it there), then going to Control Panel: Programs and seeing that it was listed there even though the installation had hung. I clicked on Change and it brought up a box with options to Repair or Uninstall. Rather than try to Repair it immediately, I looked for the exe for this program, vs_community.exe and ran it as an Administrator.

(Once you find vs_community.exe, right click on it and select the 'run as Administrator' option). That did it for me. To find vs_community.exe, I just searched my C: drive in Windows Explorer. It was under c: ProgramData Package Cache blah.blah.blah) Hope that helps some of you!

I'm having the exact same issue, just as a million other people it seems. But it seems the moderator decided to just start ignoring everyone's comments and questions. I'd really like a solution, not just someone telling me to stop the installation and retry it.

Or, an explanation of how to make it work like it's supposed to which isn't ridiculous. Best regards. Same problem here, worst thing is that I had to stop the install, reboot and now the system shows that VS community is installed (taking 9gb) but I can't uninstall it.because another setup is already running. To be honest, I feel foolish because I should have never tried to installed anything that takes 9gb My intuition is that a sub installer is getting stuck somewhere but the master installer is not checking for time outs.but it would be nice to get some moderators to actually try to find an answer+a fix until then, no more.net or MS related coding for me EDIT: and system restore does not work because of unknown issues. The sad thing is that people will try and run into the same problem.there is no real way of telling them not to start the process. I *think* I solved my experience with this in the following manner: 1.
