I use Parallels myself and it works very well. However if you need the capabilities of Project Pro, you are probably in a enterprise environment. In that case, Project OnLine could be an option.

In the getting started webpart on you home site of the PWA there's also an option to install the project client, BUT you'll find a button 'Activate' after the setup.
