That was from a year ago. I do remember that and I held off updating my Synapse until those issues were resolved, so I didn't run into them. I also didn't get my Blackwidow until Christmas. Those issues were from around October 2016. Also of note. Synapse has been nagging me for the last while to update (and I haven't) but Sierra is up to date as of last week. I'm running Synapse version 1.66.9.
